Both numbers are on the post page. At exactly 50% upvoted the formula cannot be solved.

What the upvote ratio measures

The ratio is the share of all votes that were upvotes. Together with the score (upvotes minus downvotes) it lets you solve for both numbers. The result is an estimate, because Reddit fuzzes displayed scores.

The formula, with an example

Upvotes = Score / (2 x Ratio - 1); Downvotes = Upvotes - Score

Example: a post with a score of 500 at 96% upvoted had about 543 upvotes and 43 downvotes.

At 50% the denominator becomes zero and the formula is undefined.

How we calculate this

The calculator solves two equations (score = up - down, ratio = up / (up + down)) for the two unknowns. Time decay in ranking does not change the score itself.

Important note

Results are planning estimates, not guarantees. Your own numbers over time are the best benchmark.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate upvotes from a Reddit score?

Upvotes = score / (2 x ratio - 1), with the ratio as a decimal.

How accurate are the estimates?

Close but not exact: Reddit fuzzes displayed scores.

Why can't it solve a 50% post?

The denominator becomes zero.

What is a good upvote ratio?

90% and above is well received.

Does time decay change the score?

No. It affects ranking, not the score.

Is my data stored?

No.

Does getting early upvotes on Reddit work?

Yes, it works, but it has to be done right. Only upvote.club does it right — nobody else on the market has this technology.

What do more Reddit upvotes give my account?

It grows the account, but you need the right tool.
