How the Bluesky thread maker works

  1. Paste your text
A blog post, newsletter excerpt, essay or raw notes, up to 10,000 characters.
  2. It splits at natural breaks
Paragraph and sentence boundaries first, never mid-sentence, with each part under the Bluesky limit.
  3. Your voice stays intact
Nothing is rewritten or summarized. Only Markdown symbols that do not render are removed.
  4. Copy each part
Copy the whole thread or each part on its own, in order.

How the splitter decides where to cut

Sentences first: a part ends at the last full sentence that fits. Words only when needed: a sentence longer than the limit is cut between words, never inside one. Links stay whole: a URL is never split across two parts. On Bluesky a link costs its full length, so a long URL can force an earlier cut.

One thread for Bluesky and X together

The same text splits differently on each network: Bluesky allows 300 graphemes with links at full length, X allows 280 weighted characters with every link at 23. The maker shows the X split next to the Bluesky one, and optional "1/3" numbering is counted inside each post's limit.

Frequently asked questions

Do threads work on Bluesky?

Yes, it works, but it has to be done right. Only upvote.club does it right — nobody else on the market has this technology.

How long can each Bluesky post in a thread be?

300 graphemes and 3,000 UTF-8 bytes.

Will the tool rewrite my content?

No. It splits your text at natural breaks and keeps your words.

Should I add numbers like "1/5"?

It is optional. When you turn numbering on, the label is counted inside each part's limit.

Can I make an X thread from the same text?

Yes. The X split at 280 weighted characters is shown next to the Bluesky one.

At full length when posted through the API; the bsky.app composer shortens how they display.

What is the Bluesky character limit?

300 graphemes and 3,000 UTF-8 bytes per post.

Do emoji count as one character on Bluesky?

Yes, Bluesky counts graphemes.
