How to make an Instagram grid post

Post the last tile first: the newest post sits top-left, so the image assembles from the bottom-right up.
Why the tiles are 3:4
Since January 2025 the Instagram profile grid shows posts as 3:4 tiles instead of squares. A grid built from square tiles shows gaps and crops, while 1080 x 1440 tiles (3:4, also the tallest feed post Instagram accepts) line up across the profile.
Instagram image sizes in 2026
JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC, up to 8 MB. Feed photos run from 1.91:1 to 3:4; 1080 x 1350 (4:5) is the safe pick and 1080 x 1440 (3:4) the tallest. Since January 2025 the profile grid shows 3:4 tiles.

What the tool is doing
It reads the pixel size of your file in the browser, draws it on a canvas, crops it to the shape you pick and re-encodes it at the exact export size. There is no upload request, and metadata such as EXIF location is not carried over.
