How to keep line breaks on Instagram
- Paste your caption
Write or paste the text with the empty lines and paragraphs you want. - Let the tool fix the spacing
Blank lines are kept with an invisible character, trailing spaces are removed. - Copy and post
Copy the result and paste it into Instagram. The breaks stay where you put them.
Why Instagram drops your spacing
Instagram's caption field can drop empty lines and trailing spaces, so a caption spaced into short paragraphs arrives as one block of text. The generator keeps each blank line by placing an invisible character on it and removes the trailing spaces that cause the collapse.
Line breaks, the limit and the feed cut
Spacing affects the cut too: the feed shows roughly the first 125 characters before "... more", and a line break near the top can push your hook behind it. Keep the first line complete on its own.

Frequently asked questions
Why does Instagram remove my line breaks?
Empty lines and trailing spaces can be dropped by the caption field. An invisible character on each blank line keeps them.
Will the invisible character show in my caption?
No. It renders as an empty line.
Does spacing affect the 125-character cut?
Yes. A break near the top can push your hook behind "... more".
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The tool runs in your browser.
Does good spacing help a post perform?
It keeps readers moving past the first line. It grows the account, but you need the right tool.
How long can an Instagram caption be?
2,200 characters, with roughly the first 125 visible before "... more".
How many hashtags can an Instagram post have?
Up to 5 since December 18, 2025; the old cap of 30 no longer applies.
