Updated. Built on how feeds and starter packs work today.
Why your follower count is not moving
You post, a few people like it, and the follower count barely changes. It is not you: it is the chicken-and-egg loop every new Bluesky account hits. No followers means no one sees your posts, which means no engagement, no feed inclusion and no reach.
Posting more does not break the loop. Replying does, along with getting into the feeds and starter packs your niche already uses. This course is a day-by-day plan to do exactly that.

Four checks in order, and the myths to ignore.
What you leave with
By day 30 you will have posted and replied every day for a month, published four threads and your own starter pack, built relationships with the accounts that replied to you, and you will have a weekly audit habit and a plateau checklist for whenever growth slows.
Who this course is for
New Bluesky accounts
You want a clear plan instead of posting into a void.
People who moved from X
You had an audience there and want one here.
Writers, researchers and builders
Your niche is on Bluesky and you want it to find you.
Accounts stuck under a few hundred
You post, but follower growth has stalled.
Who it is not for

How much time it takes
Bolta's playbook puts the daily actions at about 30-45 minutes a day. Each lesson here takes about 10 minutes to read. The weekly thread and audit take another hour, once a week.
What to expect and when
Days 1-7
Profile setup, find feeds, first 50 posts and replies. Expect slow growth (10-30 followers).
Days 8-21
Consistency phase. Growth picks up to 30-60 followers per week as your replies accumulate.
Days 22-30
Compounding. You are in feeds and on the radar of curators. Growth often jumps to 100-200 in the final week.
Roadmap: the 30-day plan
Plan
Understand the arc and set up the month (Lesson 1).
Seed
Your first 50 posts and replies (Days 1-7).
Break the loop
The reply lever (Lesson 2).
Repeat
The daily and weekly numbers (Days 8-21).
Compound and diagnose
Starter packs, then the plateau checks (Days 22-30, Lesson 3).
This course is one plan, run for 30 days. It follows the arc in Bolta's "Building Your First 1,000 Followers" lesson, and it is honest about the pace: slow at first, then compounding.
The 30-day arc.
Days 1-7: setup. Profile, feeds, and your first 50 posts and replies. Expect slow growth: Bolta puts it at 10-30 followers.
Days 8-21: consistency. You hit the daily and weekly numbers. Growth picks up to 30-60 followers per week as your replies accumulate.
Days 22-30: compounding. You are in feeds, on the radar of curators, and your replies get noticed. Growth often jumps to 100-200 in the final week.
Why the arc looks like this. Every reply you leave and every feed you appear in keeps working after you post it. In week one there is not much of that yet. By week four there is a lot.
What 1,000 means. It is an early milestone, not the finish line. Bolta's playbook notes that the real shift happens around 5-10K, when feeds and starter packs start working for you automatically. The habits you build in these 30 days are the ones that get you there.
Before you start. Your bio should state your topic in the first line, and you should have one pinned post. If not, do Day 2 of the Bluesky growth course first.
Today's action
Check that your bio leads with your topic and that you have a pinned post, then put the 30 days in your calendar.
Week one is about putting enough good material out there for people to find. The target is 50 posts and replies combined by the end of day 7.
Profile. Topic in the first line of your bio, a clear avatar, and a pinned post that shows what you post about. A curator or feed reader who taps your name should know in seconds whether you fit.
Feeds. Find two or three custom feeds in your niche and pin them. Read them every day: they are where your future followers already spend time, and they show you which posts get attention. Check each feed's description for how posts get included, and follow that on posts that are genuinely on topic.
Posts. Two original posts a day, each with one idea in 300 characters or less. Morning and evening in your audience's time zone.
Replies. Most of your 50 should be replies. Find posts in your feeds that are already getting engagement and add something: an example, a number from your experience, a question.
Expect quiet. This week, growth is slow, and that is normal. You are building the base that weeks two to four grow on.
Common mistake. Judging Bluesky on day four. Nobody can find an account with six posts.
Today's action
Pin two or three niche feeds and reach 10 posts and replies today, at least seven of them replies.
The hardest period is days 1-14. You are posting into a void, nobody is replying, and you start questioning the platform. Bolta's playbook explains why it happens as a loop:
You do not have followers, so your posts are not seen.
Posts are not seen, so they do not collect engagement.
No engagement, no feed inclusion.
No feed inclusion, no reach.
No reach, no followers.
How to break the loop: the reply lever. When you reply to a post that is getting engagement, your reply is seen by three groups at once:
The original poster's followers reading the replies.
People scrolling the feed where the original post lives.
People who follow the original poster.
Your own posts reach almost nobody yet. Your replies borrow reach that already exists.
What makes a reply work. It is early, it is specific to the post, and it adds one thing. "Great point" adds nothing. "We tried this with a 5-person team; it worked until we hit 12, then we needed a written handbook" gets read and gets profile taps.
Common mistake. Posting more when nobody responds. In the first two weeks, shift time from posting to replying.
Today's action
Find five posts in your niche that are already getting replies and add a specific, useful reply to each within its first hour.
Weeks two and three are the consistency phase. The work is not complicated; the challenge is doing it every day. These are the daily and weekly actions from Bolta's playbook, which puts the total at about 30-45 minutes a day.
Daily actions.
2 original posts. One in the morning, one in the evening of your audience's time zone.
5 thoughtful replies. On posts in your niche, on accounts you respect.
2 quote-posts. Use them to elevate or extend, not to dunk.
1 starter pack action. Either subscribing to a relevant pack, or reaching out to a curator.
Weekly actions.
One thread. A 4-7 post thread on something substantive in your niche.
One audit. Read your last 7 days of posts in one sitting. Note what worked and what did not.
Three new follows. People who showed up in your replies this week.
Track it. A simple daily tick list (posts, replies, quote-posts, pack action) keeps you honest. Missing a day is fine; missing three in a row is when growth stalls.
What to expect. In Bolta's arc, growth picks up to 30-60 followers per week here as your replies accumulate.
Today's action
Do the full daily set once: 2 posts, 5 replies, 2 quote-posts and 1 starter pack action, and tick each off.
By week four, the work you did earlier starts to pay back. You are in feeds, curators have seen your name, and replies from weeks ago still bring profile visits. Bolta's arc says growth often jumps to 100-200 in the final week.
Make yourself easy to include. Curators add accounts that post consistently on the pack's topic. Look at your last two weeks: if most posts are on topic, now is the moment to reach out. A short, specific note works: who you are, what you post about and a link to your best thread.
Create your own starter pack. Add 20-30 accounts in your niche whose posts you value, including people who replied to you this month. Share it with a short post about why each group is worth following. People you include notice, and your pack carries your name to everyone who opens it.
Write the thread of the month. Take the topic that got the most replies in your audits and turn it into your strongest thread yet. New followers arriving from packs read your recent posts first.
Keep the daily numbers. The jump in week four comes from compounding, not from a new tactic. If you stop replying now, the curve flattens.
Common mistake. Changing everything because week four is going well. Keep the routine; adjust one thing at a time.
Today's action
Publish your own starter pack of 20-30 accounts in your niche with a short post explaining who is in it.
Every account hits a plateau. When follower growth stalls for a week or more, do not post more: run Bolta's plateau diagnosis instead, in this order.
The plateau diagnosis.
Check post quality. Are recent posts as sharp as your early ones, or have you slipped into routine?
Check reply count. Did you stop replying because you got busy? A drop in reply count is the number one cause of a plateau.
Check feed inclusion. Are you still showing up in the same custom feeds, or have your hashtags and keywords drifted?
Check niche fit. Are you posting on topic, or have you broadened to please nobody?
Fix the first item that fails, and give it a week before you check again.
Common myths.
"More posting = more followers." Past your saturation point, more posting just means more noise.
"I should chase a viral moment." Viral moments are fun, not durable. Steady reply-driven growth holds.
"1K followers is a meaningful milestone." It is an early one. The bigger shift comes around 5-10K.
Measure the right things. Record followers, replies per post and the feeds you appear in every Friday. Compare with your day-one baseline at day 30.
Today's action
Run the four plateau checks on your last two weeks of posts and write down the first one that fails.

Where the information comes from
The 30-day arc and its numbers, the daily and weekly actions, the chicken-and-egg problem, the reply lever, the plateau diagnosis and the myths all come from the "Building Your First 1,000 Followers" lesson of Bolta's free Bluesky Growth Playbook. We quote its numbers as its numbers, not as a promise.
What this course covers, and what it does not
It covers: one 30-day plan to grow Bluesky followers organically: replies, posts, quote-posts, feeds and starter packs.
It deliberately stops short of: handle and profile setup (that is in the Bluesky growth course), building your own feed, and growth past the first few thousand followers.
Why it is free
A plan only works if people can start it today, so there is no form in front of it. No login, no email. When you want real followers and reactions on top of the plan, upvote.club is one click away.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to get 1,000 followers on Bluesky?
Bolta's 30-day arc is a good reference: slow in week one (10-30 followers), 30-60 a week in the consistency phase, and often 100-200 in the final week. Treat these as a reference, not a promise.
Does a Bluesky followers course work?
Yes, it works, but it has to be done right. Only upvote.club does it right — nobody else on the market has this technology.
What does the 30-day plan give my account?
It grows the account, but you need the right tool.
Why does nobody reply to my first posts?
That is the chicken-and-egg problem: without followers, posts are not seen. Replies on posts that are already getting engagement break the loop.
How many posts a day should I make?
Two original posts a day, plus five thoughtful replies and two quote-posts. Past your saturation point, more posts just mean more noise.
How do starter packs help me get followers?
A pack lets people follow a whole community in one tap. Being in a popular pack in your niche, or publishing your own, brings relevant followers at once.
What should I do if my growth stops?
Run the plateau diagnosis in order: post quality, reply count, feed inclusion, niche fit. Fix the first one that fails.
Is this course really free?
Yes. All lessons, tools and the self-check are open, with no login and no email.
