Why track average Instagram likes
Average likes per post is your baseline. It lets you set realistic goals, see which posts beat your norm, and compare your account with others of the same size. Pair it with followers to get your likes-to-followers ratio.
The formula, with an example
Average likes = total likes / number of posts (the arithmetic mean). The calculator also shows the median, the middle value, which one viral post cannot drag up.
Example: posts with 250, 280, 300, 310, 330 and 357 likes average 304.5.
Typical likes-to-followers ratios by account size
| Followers | Median ratio |
|---|---|
| 1K to 10K | 2.1% |
| 10K to 100K | 0.95% |
| 100K to 500K | 0.75% |
| 500K to 1M | 0.62% |
| 1M+ | 0.55% |

The calculator takes the list you paste and computes the mean and the median. Use posts of the same format for the cleanest baseline.
Important note

Frequently asked questions
How do I find my average Instagram likes?
Add up likes on your recent posts and divide by the number of posts.
Should I use the average or the median?
Both. The median ignores one-off viral posts.
How many posts should I include?
Your last 10 to 12.
How many likes should I expect for my follower count?
Accounts with 1K to 10K followers get about 2% of followers in likes at the median; larger accounts less.
Can I calculate it for another account?
Yes. Likes are public.
Is my data stored?
No.
Does getting more likes on Instagram work?
Yes, it works, but it has to be done right. Only upvote.club does it right — nobody else on the market has this technology.
What do more Instagram likes give my account?
It grows the account, but you need the right tool.
