Updated. Based on the ranking code X published, not on guesses.

Why your X account is stuck

You post, you get a handful of likes from the same people, and the account sits at the same follower count for months. Meanwhile, advice on X contradicts itself: post more, post less, use threads, never use threads.

The usual reasons are concrete. The profile does not tell visitors why to follow. Posts open with context instead of a hook. Posts collect likes, the lightest signal there is, instead of replies. And a small account waits for its own posts to be found, when the fastest way to be seen is replying under other people's posts.

This course fixes those, one day at a time, using what X's own published ranking code rewards.

What you will learn

Turn your profile into a follow button

Bio as a promise, header as a billboard, the right pinned post.

Write hooks for 280 characters

Four archetypes that stop the scroll.

Read the ranking code

Which signals X weights and what to change because of it.

Write threads people finish

When to thread, and the anatomy of one that gets read.

Grow through replies

Pick accounts, be early, add one thing.

Use Lists, Communities and Spaces

Three surfaces beyond the For You feed.

What you leave with

By Day 7 you will have a rewritten bio and pinned post, a hook bank, your first thread published, a List of accounts for daily replies, two Communities you contribute to, a daily reply number in your calendar and a baseline of your numbers to measure against.

Who this course is for

Founders building in public

You want X to bring users, feedback and hires.

Indie hackers and developers

You ship things and want an audience that sees them.

Writers and creators

You post regularly, but reach stays flat.

Marketers

You run a personal or brand account and want a repeatable system.

Who it is not for

If you already post daily, reply under bigger accounts every day and review your numbers weekly, this course will be mostly revision. Go straight to the X replies course for a deeper programme on the reply game.

What you need to start

0 of 4 done

How much time it takes

Each lesson takes 10-15 minutes to read, and the daily action about 30 minutes, most of it spent replying. After the course, the rhythm from Day 7 needs a fixed daily reply block plus time to write one or two posts.

What to expect and when

  1. Week 1: the foundation
Profile, hooks and your first thread are in place. Replies bring the first profile visits before follower growth shows.
  2. Weeks 2-4: the routine
A fixed daily number of replies and one or two posts a day. Your replies start to earn follow-backs from the accounts you reply to most.
  3. Months 2-3: compounding
Posts get more replies from new followers, and your weekly review shows which topics and formats to repeat.

Roadmap: from profile to growth engine

  1. Position
A profile that says why to follow (Day 1).
  2. Write
Hooks and threads (Days 2 and 4).
  3. Understand
What the ranking code weights (Day 3).
  4. Participate
Replies, Lists, Communities and Spaces (Days 5-6).
  5. Measure
A baseline and a weekly review (Day 7).

Four frameworks. The rest is reps.

Bio as a promise

Topic, proof and what a follower gets.

Replies over likes

13.5 vs 0.5 in the ranking code: write to start conversations.

Hook, one idea, question

The shape of a post that earns the expand and the reply.

List, early, one thing

The reply routine: the right accounts, the first minutes, one added idea.

7 days to an X account that grows

0 of 7 lessons done0%
  1. On X, people decide to follow you after they tap your name under a post or a reply they liked. They land on your profile and look at four things: name, bio, header and pinned post. Today you make each one answer "why should I follow?".

Name and handle. Keep the handle short and easy to type. Your display name can carry a short descriptor after your name, such as "Ana | B2B SaaS growth", so the topic shows next to every reply.

Bio. Write it as a promise, not a CV. A simple structure: who you help or what you write about, the proof that you know it, and what a follower gets. "I write about bootstrapping a SaaS to $10k MRR. Building one in public." tells a visitor exactly what the next 100 posts will be.

Header. Use it as a billboard: one line that repeats the promise in bigger type.

Pinned post. Pin the post that best shows what you do: a thread with your best framework, a result, or a short story of what you are building. It is the first piece of content a new visitor reads.

    Before and after.

    • Weak: "Dad. Coffee. Opinions are my own."
    • Strong: "Notes on cold email that books meetings. 9 years in B2B sales. New breakdown every Tuesday."

Common mistake. A clever bio that says nothing about topic. Clever is fine once people know what you post about.

    Today's action

Rewrite your bio as a promise (topic + proof + what followers get) and pin your strongest post.

Where the information comes from

The ranking weights come from the model X open-sourced (the Heavy Ranker in the-algorithm-ml repository), as broken down in Slap Post's free X course. The reply routine follows Slap Post's "Replies that compound" lesson, and the Lists, Communities and Spaces lesson follows the structure of Bolta's X (Twitter) Mastery course. Post limits come from X Help.

What this course covers, and what it does not

It covers: organic growth of a personal X account: profile, writing, threads, replies, Lists, Communities, Spaces and measurement.

It deliberately stops short of: X ads, creator payouts and brand-account management. Those are different goals with different playbooks.

Why it is free

A free X growth course with no login and no upsell reaches more people than one behind a form. Every lesson is open. When you want real replies and reactions on the posts you write here, upvote.club is one click away.

Frequently asked questions

Is this X growth course really free?

Yes. Every lesson, tool and the self-check are open, with no login and no email.

Does an X growth course work?

Yes, it works, but it has to be done right. Only upvote.club does it right — nobody else on the market has this technology.

What does the course give me on X?

It grows the account, but you need the right tool.

Where do the ranking weights come from?

From the ranking model X open-sourced on GitHub (the Heavy Ranker), as broken down in Slap Post's free X course. The course quotes only the signals that matter for growth.

Do I need X Premium to follow the course?

No. Everything works on a standard account with the 280-character limit. Premium only adds longer posts of up to 25,000 characters.

Should I write threads or single posts?

Both. Single posts for one idea, threads for ideas with steps or several parts. Day 4 shows how to decide.

How many replies a day should I write?

Pick a number you can hit every day. The X replies course gives the benchmarks for beginners and committed accounts.

When will I see results on X?

Profile visits from replies usually come first, in week one. Follower growth builds over weeks 2-4 as you keep the daily rhythm.
